Nigeria Did Not Apply To Join BRICS – The Vice President of the federal republic of Nigeria “Kashim Shettima” says Nigeria did not apply for membership of BRICS – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

The vice President “Shettima” spoke hours after the economic bloc said it is admitting six new members – Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

While allot of people are still wondering why Nigeria did not join the group, The vice president said on Friday that the country never applied for ERICS membership.

Up till this moment, we have not applied for the membership of BRICS. And it is majorly notify by the fact that my principal President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a true democrat that believes in consensus building,” he talked on the sideline of the BRICS Summit which took place in South Africa.

We really need to take into cognizance so many variables. We also need to analyze so many tendencies and issues that require engagements with the economic advisory council, the Federal Executive Council, also the National Assembly before an informed decision towards joining the BRICS will take place.

Shettima who has been standing for Nigeria at the conference,  spoke to Nigerians citizens in South Africa. Meanwhile, He’s calling on them to be law-abiding and to respect the host citizens wherever they live. Hence the newly admitted countries would become full members from 1st January.
